On Friday 8th December 2000 I went to the Cheltenham & Gloucester College of H.E. Christmas Ball which was once again was held in the Student Union Bar.
This years Ball featured a band called Silverman (which included two students of the college) and for a second year running the ABBA tribute band Super Trouper.
At around 9.30 the first band, Silverman, came on stage. I enjoyed this band but felt that the person on the mixing desk did not have the sound levels right as we could hardly hear the vocals, this was backed up by the fact that the bands drummer was signalling to the mixing desk to turn the vocals up. I also thought that the main guitarist was incredible as one minute he would be playing soft and slow, and the next minute there would be an all out assult on the ears, which I thought was fantastic.
Then at about 11 O'clock Super Trouper came on stage. Unfortunately it was nearly time for me to leave and so I only heard a few songs which included Waterloo, and Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight).
Over all I had a Super time listening to the live music but it was not as good as the previous night.
